18 great deals in the Steam Golden Week Sale, and most of them are only RPGs

Steam’s latest mega sale celebrates Japan’s Golden Week, with many of Japan’s major publishers participating.

I somehow missed this until today because the individual sale pages are hidden behind mysterious banners, but there are plenty of great deals through May 8th.   • Persona 5 Royal – 35% off at $38.99 (Opens in a new tab): better version of the The best JRPG you can play today.
  • Dragon Quest 11s – 35% off at $25.99 (Opens in a new tab): One of the few games that can actually rival the aforementioned lineup in the battle for the greatest JRPG. Classic polished to a mirror shine.
  • scarlet nexus – 75% off at $14.99 (Opens in a new tab)Great combat, bleak but beautiful world, poor side content – the perfect $15 game.

  • Danganronpa 1 + 2 – 64% off at $14.38 (Opens in a new tab): Another unforgettable wombo-combo visual novel, this time with competitive killing.
  • Near Replicant – 60% off at $23.99 (Opens in a new tab): A big discount on the updated version of the open-world RPG that started it all, sort of, if you haven’t read Deep Nier Lore, and I can’t recommend it to you without a doctor’s endorsement.   • Final Fantasy Big Bundle – 50% off: Square has 14 of these items on sale and they average 50% off. I deliberately threw a live bomb on the floor of the debate hall, and asked the GR team to choose their favorites in a very calm and reasonable way.   • Disgaea 5 Complete – 75% off at $9.99 (Opens in a new tab): Spend over 100 hours cracking an impossibly dense strategy game that was clearly designed to be cracked.
