A Southwest Airlines pilot ended up crawling through the cockpit window on Wednesday after a customer inadvertently closed the flight deck door, the airline said.

Passenger Matt Rexrud told CNN he was getting ready to board a flight from San Diego to Sacramento when he saw the plane’s pilot crawl through the window.

“During the boarding process, while other customers and flight attendants were on board, a customer opened the front lavatory door and inadvertently pushed open the deck door (which was locked) while the pilots scheduled to operate the flight were preparing to board,” the airline said in a statement. CNN statement. “One of our pilots opened the door from the Flight Deck window, and the flight departed as scheduled.”
