Clemson vs. NC State score: Live game updates, college football scores, NCAA top 25 highlights today

No. 5 Clemson and No. 10 NC State are tied at 3-3 after one quarter of play in Death Valley with the story so far being red zone defense. In a game anticipated to be a tight affair, finishing drives with seven points instead of three may end up being a premium.

Clemson received the opening kickoff and marched 72 yards on 13 plays, thanks in large part to quarterback DJ Uiagalelei completing three of his four passes for 39 yards. The Wolfpack defense stood strong, though, and stopped Uiagalelei on the 3-yard line and forcing a field goal. NC State came right back on the arm of Wolfpack star quarterback Devin Leary. The veteran went 6 of 7 passing for 56 yards, including two completions to Devin Carter for 44 yards. Like Uiagalelei, Leary was stopped at the 3-yard line and NC State settled for a field goal.

Just because the score is low doesn’t mean this can’t be a shootout. Both defenses showed holes, especially in the third level. It’ll be interesting to see what changes are made as they switch sides of the field, and if one of the quarterbacks can break through for a touchdown.

Keep it locked here for Clemson vs. NC State as we cover the game live with scores, analysis and highlights on Saturday night.
