Draft completed. The slash is set, and the lions are advancing toward creeping summer. With Kansas City working and dusting, Detroit has a full semester’s work. The choices the front office has made have earned their share of criticism, but we’re focused on what is and what becomes of this team over the next year with the new rookies.
In this loaded episode of the Pride of Detroit PODcast, we break down every pick the Detroit Lions made in the 2023 NFL Draft, from Jahmyr Gibbs to Antoine Green. We discuss the strategy used by Brad Holmes and the Lions front office: Was it the best player available, was there a way for players to be picked, and did things change when Devon Witherspoon walked off the plate to the Seattle Seahawks? We’re paying particular attention to where this offense is heading, which weapons are chosen and where the roof might be with Tennessee quarterback Hendon Hooker, who was drafted in the third round.
As always after the draft, we want to thank you and nearly everyone else who joined us on Twitch for our draft POD parties on all three days of the draft. We had some of our biggest audiences throughout the year, and we had all kinds of great fun interacting live with the events. We hope you’ll continue to join us live on Twitch throughout the summer as we continue to record our live PODcast.
