The streets are about to get a lot clearer: Double Dragon He’s coming back. Publisher Modus Games has announced the revival of the classic side-scrolling beat-em-up franchise, with development studio Secret Base. The new address is called Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragon, and is launching on a wide range of platforms: PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, and PS5. It is expected to be released this summer.

Endless gameplay possibilities are made a reality with the game’s dynamic mission selection function: the order in which you choose your mission will affect mission length, number of enemies, and overall difficulty. Players choose between missions set within city sectors, pursuing the leaders of four deadly gangs through unique stages filled with melee weapons, dangerously loyal members and diverse environments perfect for all-out battles.
There are also a whopping 13 characters to play with, including a host of new fighters alongside series icons Billy and Jimmy Lee. The game will launch with local co-op play, and the internet will come as part of a post-release update.
