FBoy Island, which was one of the most-watched unscripted original shows on HBO Max, has been discovered amid Warner Bros.’s move. Discovery to cut the reality show from HBO Max and was canceled after two seasons last year.
The show is set in the Cayman Islands and follows three women who are joined by 24 men – 12 self-proclaimed “nice guys” looking for love and 12 self-proclaimed “FBoys” there to compete for the cold and hard cash.
Women navigate the dating pool in hopes of finding a lasting loving relationship. By the end, it’s all revealed – who’s the nice guy, who’s the FBoy and who the women choose in the end. Fboy Island is a social experiment that asks the age-old question: Can FBoys really reform, or do Nice Guys always end?
the FGirl Island Spinoff was already in the works on HBO Max before it was cut.
“With his innovative, modern twist on the reality dating genre, incredibly talented host Nikki Glaser, and a truly memorable title, FBoy Island on The CW is a perfect match,” said Olander. “Together with our partners at STXtelevision, we look forward to furthering the franchise on The CW with our gender-blipping FGirl Island and can’t wait to introduce the next generation of FBoys and FGirls to existing fans as well as new broadcast audiences.”
“I am so excited for my favorite reality TV show to be back,” said Nikki Glaser. “It’s the icing on the cake to get to host it again. I hope I can forget everything that happens while doing the show so I can revive it again when it airs. I couldn’t be more proud to have my name appear on such a funny, captivating and silly show.”
“STXtelevision is thrilled to be collaborating with The CW in giving FBoy Island an amazing new home,” added Jason Goldberg, STX Digital/New Media Group Creative Director and Alternative Content. On top of that, we’ll be expanding the fan-favorite franchise with the launch of the highly anticipated FBoy Island, which will be exciting, hilarious, and outrageous. To date, FBoy Island has original local formats in Sweden, Spain, the Netherlands, Denmark, New Zealand, Australia, Portugal, and the UK. The best in the world of FBoy and FGirl Island He hasn’t come yet.”
