Wearing a Georgia State shirt, Ludacris gleefully sang the theme song for The Jeffersons, crooning that he was ‘movin’ on up’ as he advanced through the plane.

The lavish aircraft includes a section with train-style seats and tables, followed by another section lined with leather-upholstered sofas.

Its owner and his guests will be able to enjoy the benefits of a mini-kitchen and an elegantly appointed bathroom, as well as a TV.

At the beginning of this month Ludacris was awarded an honorary degree in music management from Georgia State.

Ludacris, born Christopher Bridges, attended the college for a year in the late 1990s studying music management but dropped out to devote himself to his career.

Now a couple of decades later the college has decided to award him the degree that he declined to complete the first time around.

‘GSU, I am home right now,’ he said at the college’s commencement week kick-off ceremony, according to Billboard. ‘I owe Georgia State University a great debt, because you helped me arrive at my: “Why?” Our alma mater was founded on the principles to help you find those answers.’

He added: ‘So with its rich history of excellence and inclusion, it plays an even more important role. And this is very important to me, this school graduating more African-Americans than any other university in America.’

Ludacris’ new jet is far from his first private plane – back in 2014 he posted a picture of what Business Insider reported was his Hawker 700.

Last year he went viral after posting a video of himself flying a plane – but clarified on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that he has yet to get his pilot’s license.

‘That’s something that’s called a nickel ride,’ he said of the video. ‘It goes, that term goes back to the military days, so it’s my first time actually really flying.’

He dished: ‘I actually own a plane but for all of these years I’ve never wanted to become a pilot because you can’t drink alcohol within eight hours of you flying. So what, who would wanna go on a vacation and actually not drink before they’re about to leave? Ridiculous. It’s ludicrous!’

Ludacris added: ‘So long story short, that is the first of many, but I do plan to get my pilot’s license soon, so, you know, it’s a work in progress. It takes some time.’
