The May 2023 Pixel security update is available, along with a few more additions
It’s the first Monday of the new month, which means it’s time for a new Android security update bulletin to be released. Thus, it comes as no surprise that today Google published its May 203 Android Security Bulletin and a new security update is being rolled out to all eligible Pixel phones.
Android Security Bulletin May 2023
As usual, the May 2023 Security Bulletin is divided into two different patch levels. There are patches for Android open source components (without Linux Kernel patches) under the 2023-05-01 security patch level. On the other hand, patches for the rest of the affected components are contained within releases that carry the 2023-05-05 security patch level. For more details on how the monthly security update process works, see our explainer.
