Four-star defensive line prospect Rueben Bain had exceptional numbers during his junior season at Miami Central. Bain is the brother of Miami graduate assistant Reggie Bain and nephew of former Hurricanes’ defensive back Tolbert. Signing Bain is a priority for the Miami football program in the Class of 2023.

During his junior season at Miami Central, Bain had 93 tackles, 31.5 tackles for loss and 19.5 sacks as a defensive lineman. Bain made an immediate impact with the Rockets as a freshman recording 28 tackles, 20 TFLs and 5.5 sacks. Bain is projected to commit to Miami by 247 Sports, On3.Com and Rivals.

None of the five players currently committed to Miami in the Class of 2023 are DL. Three-star linebacker Bobby Washington is the only defensive player currently committed to Miami for 2023. Roland Smith who coached Bain at Miami Central accepted a job in the Miami recruiting department in February.

Four-star LB Wesley Bissainthe who signed with the Miami football program in the Class of 2022, was a teammate of Bain at Miami Central. According to his 247 Sports profile, Bain has taken six unofficial visits to Miami. Bain has not taken any of his official visits yet according to 247 Sports.

Miami has a comfortable lead in the recruitment for Bain per On3. The Hurricanes are projected with a 39.3 percent chance to receive a commitment from Bain per On3. Florida is second at 15.2 percent and Florida State third at 13 per the On3 recruiting prediction machine. Bain would be the highest-ranked 2023 Miami commit.

Washington’s brother Robby, projected as a wide receiver in college, is the 185th ranked player in the Class of 2023, the current highest-rated commit to Miami. Bain is the 148th player, 21st DL and 27th in Florida in the Class of 2023. Miami could have Bain be a foundational player in their 2023 Class.

Bain and Bissainthe are in the running for the best fall high school athlete in Miami-Dade County. Bissainthe had 86 tackles, six sacks, 15 TFLs, four forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and two interceptions for Miami Central as the Rockets won the 5A State Championship.
