Carl Pei’s Nothing is getting ready to launch its second smartphone, and now we have a window. The Nothing Phone (2) release date will be seen in July 2023.
In an interview this week with ForbesCarl Pei confirmed a couple of new details about the upcoming Nothing Phone (2). Most importantly, this includes the Nothing Phone (2) release date window. Apparently, the phone will launch sometime in July this year — the same month Samsung is expected to launch new foldable devices.
The interview also adds that Nothing Phone (2) will see a simultaneous global launch, with the phone launching in the US at the same time as other countries.
Also confirmed today is the size of the battery, which will be 4700 mAh. That’s a little less than the 5,000mAh cells found in the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and Google Pixel 7 Pro, but it’s still quite a big power pack, coming in at the phone’s 4,500mAh (1).
Previously, nothing had confirmed that the phone (2) would be powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, which should help this battery last a while.
Moreover, the interview also goes on to mention that nothing has sold around 750,000 units of her first smartphone, and that she sees about 3-4 times as many customers switching from iPhone to nothing compared to other brands.
