Sony has announced a new firmware update is rolling out today for PS5 beta testers that includes support for a 1440p resolution, folders (named Gamelists on PS5), and a variety of new social features. In the Game Library, you’ll now be able to make Gamelists of up to 100 PS5, PS4 titles. You can create 15 Gamelists made up of titles you have on disc, downloaded digitally, and streamed. The same game can be part of multiple Gamelists, and you can give them all personalized names. It’s not currently clear whether you can view these Gamelists straight from the PS5 home page, however.

On compatible PC monitors and TVs, 1440p can now be selected as a resolution. You’ll experience that output natively if the game supports it. “Or, if you’re playing a game with a higher native resolution like 4K, then you may benefit from improved anti-aliasing through supersampling down to 1440p output.” You’ll find the option to activate 1440p in the Screen and Video settings.
