(CNN) The Met Gala is an evening of style, glamor, and… baby news.
In a pair of stylish debuts, world tennis champion Serena Williams and model and entrepreneur Karlie Kloss hit the red carpet at the Met Gala on Monday in New York City wearing a very special sporting accessory: babies on the way.
“There are three of us here,” Williams told Lala Anthony during a live red carpet presentation for Vogue. The 23-time Grand Slam winner went on to say “I’m fine, I feel good now” and shared her relief that her secret was out. “I can stop hiding now,” she added.
Williams married her husband Alexis Ohanian in New Orleans in 2017 and they share one daughter together, 5-year-old Olympia Ohanian.
Adding to the family has always been Williams’ plan, who shared in a 2022 article for Vogue that she plans to grow her family as she has “evolved away from tennis.”
It seems that this time has come almost a year since her last tennis match.

“I’m so excited,” Kloss, who shares one child with husband Joshua Kushner, told Vogue’s Emma Chamberlain. “This is the first time I’m sharing my news. So, it’s very special.”
Chamberlain, who is one of the hosts of Vogue’s live red carpet show, joked that Kloss is “the only person who’s ever sneaked a little kid” into the party, which is notoriously an invitation-only event where no more people are allowed. Kloss, a Met Gala vet, knows that’s true and Chamberlain jokes, “I know, I’ve got a plus-one. Don’t tell anyone!”
The model wore a fitted black Loewe gown adorned with strings of pearls.
Kushner, who is the brother of former White House aide Jared Kushner, and Kloss married in 2018 and welcomed their son in March 2021.
The theme for the 2023 Met Gala is “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,” honoring the late fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld and his work with major fashion brands Chanel and Fendi.
