Wrexham: Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney enjoy the club’s open-top bus parade

(CNN) Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhinney celebrate in style after both the Wrexham men’s and women’s sides won promotion in their respective leagues this season.

Hollywood owners joined the teams in an open-top bus parade through the city’s streets on Tuesday.

The couple waved to fans from one of the three buses packed with players and staff passing by thousands of adoring fans.

Reynolds and McElhinney were both at the famous Racecourse Ground to watch the men’s team secure promotion from the National League, the fifth tier of English football, with victory over Boreham Wood on 23 April.

They have since reaffirmed their dedication to helping the team climb the English football pyramid.

The parade also celebrates the women’s team that won promotion to the First Division this season.

Thousands of fans lined the streets of Wrexham on Tuesday.

Three buses carrying staff and players from the men’s and women’s teams slowly drove through the city.

The club tweeted “This city” earlier on Tuesday, along with a video of fans cheering as the buses started parade.

When Reynolds and McElhinney took ownership of the club in February 2021, few could have imagined the impact the pair would make.

Tuesday seemed like another chapter in the fairy tale.
